Steven George Gerrard MBE was born on May 30, 1980 in Whiston, England. He is a British soccer player who plays as midfielder for Liverpool and England national team.

Gerrard, who has spent his entire career at Anfield, made his debut in 1998 and got a permanent place in the first team in 2000, replacing Sami Hyypiä as team captain in 2003. His achievement for the club include two FA Cups, three League Cups, two Community Shields, one Champions League, one UEFA Cup, and two Super Cups.

Gerrard made his international debut in 2000, and since then he has represented England at the European Championship in 2000 and 2004, as well as the 2006 World Cup-where he was the top scorer for the team with two gol- and the 2010 World Cup, where he first time to captain his country in the absence of regular captain Rio Ferdinand in the tournament due to injury.

He became a permanent England captain shortly before the 2012 European Championship, where he was named in the UEFA Team of the Tournament. He became the sixth player who won 100 caps for England in 2012, and is currently ranked third in the country.

Zinedine Zidane said in 2009 that he considers Gerrard became the best football player in the world. In 2005, Gerrard was honored as the UEFA Club Player of the Year and won the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. He has also been named to the PFA Team of the Year seven times, the UEFA Team of the Year and the FIFA World XI three times, and became the PFA Players of the Year in 2006 and the FWA Footballer of the Year in 2009. He was until recently this is the only football player ever to have scored in the FA Cup Final, Final League Cup, UEFA Cup Final and Champions League Final.
