Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior was born on February 5, 1992 in Mogi das Cruzes, São Paulo, Brazil. He is a Brazilian football player who played in La Liga for Barcelona and the Brazilian national team. Neymar plays as a striker. SportsPro magazine, inserted Neymar as the most valuable athlete in the world in 2013.
He also was rated # 13 in The Guardian's 'Football 100' for 2012. He first played for the Brazilian national team in 2010, and the Brazilian U-23 at the 2012 London Olympics.
Neymar started his career when he joined the junior club Portuguesa Santista. He then joined the academy of Santos, who also produces the successful soccer playars like Coutinho, Clodoaldo, Diego, Elano and Alex in 2003. Neymar started his professional career with Santos when he was 17 years old where he played against Oeste on the last 30 minutes on March 7, 2009. Then, Neymar scored his first goal in a game against Mogi Mirim. In his first season with Santos, Neymar scored 14 goals from 48 games.
In the same year, Neymar be the Player of the Tournament and be the top scorer with 11 goals in the tournament Brasilian Cup. On February 5, 2012, he was 20 years old when he scored his 100th goal as a professional soccer player in a match against Palmeiran in the event Cameonato Paulista.
