Juan Manuel Mata García was born on April 28, 1988 in Burgos, Spain. He is a soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Manchester United and the Spanish national team. He primarily plays as an attacking midfielder, but can also play as a winger.

Juan Mata played for Real Madrid Castilla for the 2006-07 season, where he finished the season as top scorer of the second best side with 10 goals. At the beginning of the 2007-08 season, Mata joined Valencia CF, through a contract clause at Real Madrid.

He was selected as the Best Young Player of the team, at the end of the season. He won the Copa del Rey in his debut season in Valencia. After his debut for Valencia in 2007, Juan Mata became an integral part of the club's midfield, has made more than 174 appearances for four seasons.

Valencia and Chelsea agree on the transfer of Juan Mata on 21 August 2011. On August 24, 2011, he signed a contract with Chelsea for a contract period of five seasons. He then put on his favorite jersey number (10) after teammate Yossi Benayoun give him voluntarily.
