David Josué Jiménez Silva was born on January 8, 1986 in Arguineguin, Spain. He is a Spanish soccer player who plays as an attacking midfielder for Manchester City and the Spanish national team.

Silva started his soccer career at Valencia B team in 2003. He was then promoted to the first team Valencia in 2004 and played for the club for six seasons. However, during in Valencia, Silva was loaned for two seasons in a row to teams Eibar and Celta Vigo namely in 2004-2005 and 2005-2006.

In the summer of 2010, Silva then moved to Manchester City for £ 24 million transfer fee. He also plays for the Spanish national team. With the national team, Silva has won three prestigious title namely European Cup 2008, 2010 and World Cup 2010 in South Africa.
