Fredy Alejandro Guarín Vásquez was born on June 30, 1986 in Puerto Boyacá, Colombia. He is a soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Internazionale Milan.

Guarín started his junior career at the club Envigado in 2002-2004. He later started his senior career at the same club. He was loaned for two seasons to Boca Juniors (2005-2006) and Saint-Étienne (2006-2007). In the 2007-2008 season, Guarin permanently contracted by the Saint-Étienne. He then played for Porto for four seasons before moving to Internazionale in 2012.
