Mikel Arteta Amatriain was born on March 26, 1982 in San Sebastián, Spain. He is a soccer who plays as a midfielder for Arsenal.

Arteta started his soccer career with Barcelona C in 1999. He later played for Barcelona B in the 1999-2002 season and was loaned to Paris Saint Germain in the 2001-2002 season.

In 2002, Arteta moved to Glagow Rangers in the Scottish Premier League and played for the club for two seasons. He later played for Real Sociedad in the 2004-2005 season. However, he was loaned back to Everton FC in the Premier League in 2005.

Arteta Everton eventually become a permanent player in 2005. Over the past six seasons, he played for Everton in the Premier League. Arteta then joined Arsenal with transfer fee of around £ 10 million on August 31, 2011.
