Mostafa Karim Benzema was born on December 19, 1987 in Lyon, France. He is a French professional soccer player of Algerian origin who currently plays for Spanish La Liga team, Real Madrid. He plays as a striker and also as a winger. Karim Benzema is famous because of the ability of the technique, style of play, and his ability to score goals. He is a great talented, tough and awesome striker.

Karim Benzema started his soccer career at local club, Bron Terraillon. He then joined the biggest club in the city, Olympique Lyonnais in 1996. Benzema first appeared in the French Ligue 1 in the 2004-05 season and appeared sporadically in his first three seasons. He along with Lyon won three league titles. In the 2007-08 season, he became the player who performed regularly and scored more than 30 goals in the season.

Benzema outstanding performance in Ligue 1 made the Professional Footballers Association of France (UNFP) bestowed on him the title of Best Player of Ligue 1. Benzema was also the top scorer in the league, and won the Bravo Award from the Italian magazine, Guerin Sportivo.

In July 2009, Benzema signed a six-year contract with the Spanish club, Real Madrid. In his first season in Los Blancos, he won the Spanish King's Cup in 2010-11 and Spanish League in 2011-12. He was awarded the title of Best French Soccer Players by France Football magazine in December 2011.

Benzema had won the European Cup U-17 when he played with French U-17 national team in 2004. At that time, Samir Nasri and Hatem Ben Arfa were his teammate. Benzema appeared for the first time to the senior team in March 2007 with a mere puppet goal in a friendly match against Austria. Benzema has played for the French national team in two major tournaments, Euro 2008 and Euro 2012.
